Admission Criteria

Additional information may be required to determine acceptance, including an interview.

Inclusionary Criteria:

  • Full Scale IQ above 60
  • Male children 5 to 16.11 who require 24-hour therapeutic milieu.
  • Learning disabled, mild to moderate, including those youth who require special education services.
  • Youngsters classified as dependent, fragile, abused, neglected, antisocial or abandoned.
  • Speech and language problems including mild hearing impairment and mild speech impediments.
  • Youngsters displaying severe anxiety, depression, and/or serious difficulty with interpersonal relationships.
  • Youngsters who require a full range of psychiatric and psychological services including but not limited to crisis intervention, psychotropic medication, and group, individual, or family therapies.

Common Behaviors Treated:

  • Sexual offense (adjudicated) and other problematic sexual behavior.
  • Mild to moderate substance abuse.
  • Habitual running away.
  • Mild fire setting.
  • Self mutilation.
  • Destruction of property.
  • Severe physical aggression.

Exclusionary Criteria:

  • Autistic or on the Autism spectrum.
  • Significant criminal activity (i.e.: armed robbery or gang violence).
  • Schizophrenic.
  • Drug dealing or severe substance abuse.
  • Severe cruelty to animals.
  • Persistent fire setting.
  • Physical condition that severely limits activity.
  • Requiring Braille services or requiring sign language.
