The WAY Program was begun at CV in 1984 to help youth leaving residential treatment develop the attitudes and skills necessary to succeed as adults. The program starts while youth are at CV and provides support and guidance for three to five years with the goal of helping students complete high school and enter the workforce successfully. A 15-year longitudinal research study showed dramatic outcomes in graduation and employment rates among WAY participants (published by the Child Welfare League of America) and today the program is nationally recognized and replicated.
